Prefeitura de Sorocaba anuncia implantação da Embaixada Nordestina na cidade

A Prefeitura de Sorocaba anunciou, na tarde desta sexta-feira (5), a implantação da Embaixada Nordestina na cidade, durante visita ao Barracão Cultural, localizado na Avenida Dr. Afonso Vergueiro, no Centro, local onde a organização será instalada, com previsão de início das atividades em até quatro meses.
“Aqui em Sorocaba o povo nordestino será respeitado! As iniciativas voltadas ao grupo buscam valorizar as raízes culturais e a trajetória de quem vive na cidade, mas que não se esquece de onde veio”, disse o prefeito durante a passagem pelo local.
Além de realizar ações culturais, o novo equipamento, que será administrado pelo Centro Cultural de Tradições Nordestinas de Sorocaba e Região (CCTN), atuará no acolhimento ao grupo, orientando e direcionando a serviços sociais, conforme demanda. O objetivo é exercer, ainda, o papel de assistência social com instruções em áreas de empregabilidade, qualificação profissional e jurídica, por exemplo.
Natural de Taquaritinga do Norte (PE) e moradora da cidade há 32 anos, a presidente do CCTN, Selma Araújo, participou do ato de anúncio. “Com a iniciativa, nós sentimos o reconhecimento do trabalho do povo nordestino. Nós contribuímos culturalmente e no progresso de Sorocaba. Essa é mais uma conquista para a diversidade cultural, pois, onde o nordestino vai ele carrega sua cultura, então, esse será um espaço de convivência e acontecimentos que irá unir o povo sorocabano”, destacou.
O encontro contou com a presença dos secretários municipais Darwin de Almeida (Serviços Públicos e Obras), Carlos Eduardo Paschoini (Mobilidade), João Alberto Corrêa Maia (Segurança Urbana), Luiz Antonio Zamuner (Cultura), Samyra Toledo (Governo), Jessica Pedrosa (Parcerias), Bruno Santana (Relações do Trabalho e Qualificação Profissional), Antonio Genezzi (Meio Ambiente, Proteção e Bem-Estar Animal), Ana Cláudia Fauaz (Cidadania), Evandro Bueno (Gabinete Central), Priscila Feliciano (Saúde) e Maurício Campanati (Planejamento e Desenvolvimento Urbano). Também estiveram presentes o diretor-geral do Saae/Sorocaba, Glauco Fogaça; o comandante-geral da Guarda Civil Municipal (GCM) de Sorocaba, Davi Dutra e o vereador Luís Santos.
