O funk carioca e o jongo são os temas dos dois próximos encontros que encerram a temporada 2023 dos Saraus Cariocas. A série, realizada pelo Arquivo Geral da Cidade, conta a história dos gêneros musicais cariocas em eventos gratuitos. Na quinta-feira (7/12), MC Leonardo será o convidado para o sarau sobre funk carioca. Ele é autor de hits do gênero, como o “Rap das armas”, “Rap do valão” e “Endereço dos bailes”. No dia 14 de dezembro, o Jongo da Serrinha será o tema do encontro, que contará com as cantoras Lazir Sinval e Deli Monteiro (descendentes dos fundadores e mestres do grupo musical).

Realizados no auditório do Arquivo Geral da Cidade (Rua Amoroso Lima, 15 – Cidade Nova), os saraus começam pontualmente às 12h30 e têm aproximadamente 60 minutos de duração. A entrada é gratuita, sujeita à lotação.

Saraus Cariocas é uma série criada pelo Arquivo Geral da Cidade para jogar luz sobre os gêneros musicais brasileiros surgidos no Rio de Janeiro. A iniciativa começou em 2022, com os gêneros samba de terreiro, samba-enredo, marchinhas, choro e bossa nova (com Roberto Menescal e Cris Delanno). Em 2023, foram realizadas edições com samba-canção e samba de gafieira.

Os encontros com MC Leonardo e o Jongo da Serrinha serão gravados em vídeo para divulgação no canal YouTube do Arquivo Geral da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro.
